aqueous
MFA thesis installation
Water droplets fall from the ceiling into water-filled tubes, producing a dynamic ambience with a hint of musicality.

In a dark space, soft but resonant water sounds appear to to come from every part of the space. As the sound gains and loses musicality, perception catches glimpses of tonal, rhythmic and spatial patterns. Light emitting from the tubes carries with it echoes of the sonic events, creating a soft animated glow on the ceiling. The installation reveals itself slowly; the duration of visit greatly affects the experience.

It is a dark and quiet space that encourages exploration of perception.
